Meet The Staff

Pastors Jimmy and Renee Johnston met in Elizabethtown, KY.  Jimmy was ministering in a Baptist Church and Renee was ministering in an Assembly of God church.  They went on one date, a month later they were engaged, and 10 months later they got married.  Fast forward 20 years, and several ministry positons later, Jimmy and Renee began praying about planting a new church in Warren County, KY where they now live.  

Destiny Church was born out of that time of prayer.  Destiny is an extension of their hearts to connect people to God through worship, bible study and service.  They both have a passion to reach those less fortunate, and one of Destiny's primary focus' is on

James 1:27 "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."  

They are huge Alabama Crimson Tide football fans, and on any Saturday in the fall you probably will find them in front of the TV watching the Tide play.  Roll Tide!  Jimmy & Renee have three handsome blessings from God, all sons: Israel, Samuel and Josiah.
